Joanne Kathleen Rowling is her full name. She comes from Britain and is a very well know author. She has written a series of Harry Potter books. She was born in 1965 in England, which makes her 56 years in 2021. Rowling was the award winner of the Costa Book Awards in 1999. Apart from being a writer, Rowling taught English in Portugal as a foreign language. She started her writing career immediately after graduating from the University of Exeter as she worked for Amnesty International.

Rowling sat for her entrance exam at Oxford in 1982 but never got admitted. The university did not accept her application, and that gave her the option of Exeter, where she pursued French. With her successful writing career, it’s hard to believe she was rejected at Oxford.

Her Harry porter series book made her one of the richest novelists. Due to her love for charity, she donated most of the money.

In 2011 she was recognized as the first female novelist to be a billionaire. She loved charity, and she donated more than one million dollars.

Fifty Shades of Grey became a competitor for her Harry Potter series to the extent it beat Harry potter books by becoming the bestselling book in the UK. Rowling then promised her editor that she would never read the book, and she never did.
